Anna and Nelli, along with Pell and his new friend, Ziri, the telepathic boy, have escaped from the sinkhole below the Nirikarr spaceship hidden under the ice in Siberia, and found Michael waiting for them, desperate to get Anna home so they can have the wedding they have dreamed of.
But first Pell is keen to save the raggedy people. The Raggedies, hideously flawed hybrids, part Human, part Nirikarr, were thrown away down the sinkhole as infants and have never seen the light of day. Engineered by Nirikarr renegades, the Founders – unknown to Nelli’s people.
Then the successful Nirikarr/human hybrids inside the ship also want out. But first they show them comatose human women who were abducted for the hybrid breeding program. Some of whom are pregnant, but pregnant with what?
The wedding plans are on hold until they find places for all the refugees. They are all too busy to listen to Pell’s suspicions. Everyone but Pell had forgotten the Spymaster, but he has not forgotten them.
The Spymaster has joined forces with the traitor; they plan to destroy everyone in Rentonvale.
